A snack that combines two favorites seems like a bonus to me and PopCorners Popped Corn Chips in white cheddar touts a combination of flavors and snacks; a rare feat. So would taking a fairly standard snack staple, the corn chip and pushing it a step further so the corn was popped to form “The new shape of popcorn” be worth the endeavor?

In addition to a catchy tagline, PopConers Popped Corn Chips in White Cheddar claimed  to be all natural and gluten free which was just an added attraction and “healthy” excuse to try the product. It comes in a small (1.1 oz) bag, which I think helps the snack seem healthier than others. The corn chip photo on the bag appears to have lots of texture, making the popped chips look light and fluffy, just as you expect popcorn to be.

The actual texture wasn’t too far off from the picture. PopCorners Popped Corn Chips are extremely thin (sort of like Doritos) giving them the perfect amount of crunch. You aren’t going to disturb anyone at snack time, but it will satisfy your desire for a crackling snack. You can actually see that the chip is made from popcorn because there are flattened kernels amidst the molded triangle chip.

In terms of flavor, the white cheddar taste is not as abundant as SmartFood popcorn, but the sweetness intermingles with the saltiness of popcorn flavor. Had there been any more of the white cheddar flavoring, I suspect it would have detracted from idea that you are eating popcorn. If traditional buttery popcorn is more your tempo, then their butter flavor might be the one you would prefer.

Overall the texture of PopCorners Popped Corn Chips in white cheddar, along with their not-overpowering cheese taste somehow stayed true to both its corn chip and popcorn roots.  I respect that what they advertise is actually what you get in the bag. So close your eyes and imagine yourself seated in a movie theater or your favorite baseball stadium., with everyone staring cause you have the newest evolution of snack! If you are feeling really ambitious, you may want to try using them in our homemade nachos recipe!

A snack that combines two favorites seems like a bonus to me. It could be a combination of flavors like Deep River Snacks Asian Sweet & Spicy – Experience Ginger Without Ginger or a combination of snacks such as Brothers All Natural Strawberry Banana Crisps – Better Than The Real Thing? The result isn’t always as exciting as the anticipation, but I applaud those companies who are willing to try a new spin on an old favorite. PopCorners Popped Corn Chips in white cheddar touts a combination of flavors and snacks; a rare feat.

The tag line “The new shape of popcorn,” pulled me in as did the picture of real corn on the front of the bag. The claims of all natural and gluten free were just an added attraction and excuse to try the product. The corn chip photo on the bag appears to have lots of texture, making the popped chips look light and fluffy, just as you expect popcorn to be.

The white cheddar flavor is not as abundant as SmartFood popcorn, but the sweetness intermingles with the saltiness of popcorn flavor. Had there been any more of the artificial white cheddar flavoring, I suspect it would have detracted from idea that you are eating popcorn. If traditional buttery popcorn is more your tempo, then their butter flavor might be the one you would prefer.

The texture was interesting and evident during every bite in my mouth and though there isn’t an explosion of flavor, the company stays true to a chip and popcorn combination. I respect that what they advertise is actually what you get in the bag. So close your eyes and imagine yourself seated in a movie theatre or your favorite baseball stadium., PopCorners popped corn ships in white cheddar will not disappoint.
