With a name so long I don’t have space to write anything witty, Flipz Double Dipped Peanut Butter & Chocolate Covered Pretzels are pretty self explanatory. Unfortunately, due to heat our chocolate and peanut butter “cover” turned more into a mush, but it did not make this snack any less tasty, though it was probably much messier than it was supposed to be! So are chocolate pretzels a sweet alternative to barbecue pretzels or should you stick to something traditionally safer ?

Flipz’s bright blue bag features tasty looking chocolate covered pretzels and an open jar of peanut butter and once we opened the bag of Double-Dipped Peanut Butter and Chocolate Covered Pretzels, the intense chocolatey, peanuty smell left no doubt that they would hit the nail on the head taste wise.

Due to the aforementioned melting (which could be felt before opening the bag), instead of lovely, individually coated pretzels, we had a gooey, delicious smelling mess of half covered pretzels. Fortunately for us, the pretzels themselves still tasted delicious. They were very crunchy and actually had a the right balance of salt which could have been a dealbreaker if there was too much. You could visually see both the peanut butter and chocolate individually thanks to the color difference between the two, but the snack is definitely double dipped and features both flavors pretty prominently.

On the back of the bag, Double-Dipped Peanut Butter and Chocolate Flipz claims that there is “no spoon required,” but it doesn’t mention that you may need a copious amount of napkins if melting occurs. There is also no mention of a “proper temperature” to keep them. We also couldn’t agree on whether or not if felt like there were enough actual pretzels in the bag. Using the serving size as a barometer, it says there are about 20 pretzels in the bag total.

Overall, these Chocolate Peanut Butter Flipz earn a recommended grade from us. If there was no meltage and the bag felt a bit more full they could have gotten our highest recommendation, but we would still say they are worth picking up if you want your pretzels to taste more like a sweet dessert than a salty pretzel snack.

  1. Nice. I love these things. They’re salty, sweet and delicious, but that pretzel crunch is reminiscent of a health food. Which is why I think they make a perfect snack, pretty much all the time.
