Tiny and thin, Estrella Spring Onion Chips had a  strong onion odor similar to sour cream and onion chips you would find in the states. Their sister bacon flavor had a nice smell but no taste, did these ones fool our trained noses too?

After the disappointing Estrella Bacon chips, we didn’t have particularly high expectations for the spring onion flavor. However, these chips surprised us with a very pleasant oniony taste that wasn’t overpowering. One disappointing factor, probably due to the size of the chips, was that the nice flavor faded very quickly.

The one definite benefit of a short lasting taste was that it left no oniony aftertaste, which is more common in strongly flavored snacks. Because of the small size they are also easy to eat, but the combination of thin and small meant that there also wasn’t much of a crunch either. We did get through the bag quickly though which was a sign that we definitely enjoyed them.

Overall, we would recommend Estrella Spring Onion chips but their greasiness and disappearing flavor act prevent them from getting our absolute highest recommendation.  If you happen to be in Russia or areas of Europe where these are sold, grab a bag and enjoy.
